Season Dates
The junior football season runs from 8 May to 11 September on a Saturday morning for all grades and teams, except for the U13 and U15 TDP teams who will play on a Sunday. The one exception to this will be any Capital Development League grading games that need to take place for U13 and U15 over the first weekend of May. Due to the later start to the season, the only weekend during the season that there are no scheduled football games is the middle weekend of the July school holidays – 16/17 July.

COVID
New Zealand Football have confirmed football competitions, matches and trainings for participants aged over 12 years and 3 months will operate as My Vaccine Pass Gatherings. This is to ensure that the game remains compliant with the Covid-19 Protection Framework and can be played in the safest possible environment.

All participants aged over 12 years and 3 months will require a valid My Vaccine Pass to be involved in these Gatherings. This includes players, coaches, and managers. For junior football, spectators such as parents and/or caregivers form part of the Gathering and count towards the Gathering limit as they will be interacting with players in the course of the activity.

More information regarding this guideline is available here:
https://www.nzfootball.co.nz/ABOUT-US/covid19/guidance-1

You will receive an email once the player registration is confirmed to verify players MVP through a NZF MVP Verification Tool.

Muster/Grading
Details will be sent in a separate email in the next few weeks outlining the muster/grading for each grade.

Playing Strip/Kit
A Stop Out shirt will be provided (to be returned at the end of the season) and you will need to purchase black Stop Out shorts and red socks. These will be available for purchase shortly online at this link

https://sosc.footballhq.co.nz/playing-kit

Please make sure you check the sizing guide as the shorts are quite a small fitting.

For First Kicks players, it is optional to purchase Stop Out shorts and socks.

All players must wear shin pads which can be purchased at any sports store.

First Kicks, U7, U8
First Kicks, U7 and U8 grade is held every Saturday morning at Hutt Park. We are hoping to have the use of Hutt Indoor Sports if the weather is inclement or the Hutt Park grounds are closed so football is on every week (funding dependent). U7 and U8 have in-house sessions and also take part in Capital Football festivals with other clubs around the Hutt Valley every three weeks.
