Over the summer the good folk of the Football College will progress an exciting programme to benefit players and coaches in 2010.

Our goals include;

The opportunity for NZ Football sanctioned Jnr Coaching Course Accreditation for all our volunteer parents - before the 2010 season kicks off.

The oversight of pre season training and trials for Jnr grades, 9th-14th, starting in early 2010.

To provide with the involvement of our DoF and Jnr Coaching Coordinator, gender and age group specific sessions throughout the season.

A mentoring programme for our older juniors as they approach the transition to College & Senior football.

Continue to run pre-trail workshops for juniors with aspirations of making Representative teams.

Once again provide Goal Keeper training sessions throughout the season.

Provide a calendar of meetings for all coaches & managers to attend and discuss matters & issues as the season unfolds.

The Stop Out Football College is to our club what others would perceive as the equivalent of other club’s “academy” approach to training their elite youngsters.

However, at Stop Out, our approach is inclusive rather than exclusive as we focus on 5 key goals.

To keep more youngsters playing & enjoying the game at Stop Out.

To deliver more skill based training that develops our players.

To encourage parents & caregivers involvement in football.

To attract players to football and to Stop Out.

To provide the opportunity for our youth players to progress to senior football.

In practical terms our Football College is grateful for the sponsorship of the Seaview Recycle & Transfer Station. The Football College runs under the guidance of the club’s Director of Football, Simon Harrold. The Football College involves the collaboration and hard work of our Junior Coaching Coordinator, Pat Gulley and club members, Chris Canton & Brendan Marsh.

There are four components to our 2008 programme at the Football College are;

High Performance Training

Junior Playing Training

Goal Keeper Training

Coaching Junior Coaches

As opportunities around our 4 components arise we will liaise with appropriate coaches and players to ensure participation by our players. We have run successful Coaching Junior Coaches sessions in recent weeks and our next offering is;

May 18th, 9:00am - 10:30am at the Clubrooms.

Goal Keeper training for 12th grade and above, sessions with Dean Mildenhall. This session is on wet or fine.

May 25th, 9:00 – 10:30am at the Clubrooms.

JPT session, open invite to all 10th & 11th grade players.

June 1st, 9:00 – 10:30am at the Clubrooms.

JPT session, open invite to all 9th grade players.

July 6th and July 13th, two Sunday sessions set aside for our HPT.

These sessions will help prepare those youngsters who will be nominated for Hutt Valley Rep trials in July (details to follow).
