Club Day Success! PDF Print E-mail

What a day!

The Div 11 Werewolves had a spanking 6 - 2 win over Wharfies

The Dad and Sons played on until it was dark before the equalised for a 3 all draw with the 3rds

But the shock of the day was McCreadies Clowns securing a 2 nil win to deliver the Blacks the LOSERS trophy for 2009.

In 2010 the Clowns have decided not to play for points and instead will ask the opposition to play for a crate of liquid amber. The rotund, balding, toe hackers turn into superhuman athletes when there's alcohol on the line!

Fantastic atmosphere and a great day of frivolity and humour...and a hint of footballing skill.

Three games with three Stop Out teams VICTOROUS!

Cup wins for the good guys!!! PDF Print E-mail

Congratulations - our teams in Cup Finals both prevailed over highly fancied opponents on the weekend. 2 out of the 5 JPL Cup finals were won by teams from the mighty Stop Out, a record many larger clubs will envy.

The 11th Promo A team prevailed 1-0 in a nail biting climax to their season over Wests after scoring early. The team were keen to improve on their runners-up placing of last season - and the early goal soothed the nerves somewhat. However, despite staunch defence a second and comforting goal didn't happen - so Alex, Kim and all supporters endured a nervous second half willing the clock to wind down. (See Jnr link for more details).

The 13th JPL came from a  goal down to win 2-1, also over Wests. Cameron Martin equalised an early Wests goal as the teams went to the break level. A storming second half, with the team led by James Marsh in the middle of the park, saw Stop Out gradually gain ascendancy. With ten to go Lachy Waugh with the ball on his toe and the defence half a pace too slow sprinted 40 yards before drawing and beating the keeper. For detailed colour on the game head to the Juniors link above.

A fabulous way to sign off the season for two fine teams - well done to all players, their coaches - Alex, Kim, Brendan & Gavin.
