Women fight the elements! PDF Print E-mail

Last year it was hailstorms...

This year it's water!

Here's are a selection of photos that shows that nothing will stop our Women playing football this winter!

Ironically for our Div 3 team the opposition is again Waterside Karori - just as it was the day of the hail storm - double irony, we were again the victors 4-0 !!

U20 Development squad announced. PDF Print E-mail

Two of our most promising "juniors" Justin Gulley and Michael Hagarty have been rewarded with inclusion into the Wellington U20's training squad.
This training group will be used to prepare prospective memebrs of the 2011 and 2013 NZ U20 World Cup Qualifying squad to compete at an international level. This is the first step on the process as the "very best" players will be invited to attend Training Camps in Auckalnd throughout the preparatory stages of ther campaign.

Another success for the club from two lads who have come through our junior ranks from the age of six!

Stop Out vs Wellington Phoenix PDF Print E-mail

Well it turned out to be a great night for football. The weather was perfect and with all the inclement weather we have had recently - so was the pitch. Porirua Park is a fantastic venue for night football.

The match was played in great spirit and whilst the "friendly" was to support the Phoenix with an early season hit out the match was hugely beneifcial for our lads as well.

After last weeks postponement Stop Out welcomed the game and aginst quality opposition. Bess was also able to try some different combination's and in the last half hour "empty the bench". In all ten U19 players were exposed to football against professional footballers.

And even without All Whites, Lochead, Bertos, SIgmund etc the Phoenix had a strong squad on show. Iffil, Lia, Greenacre, Durante, McKain, Daniel, Muscat, Diego, Hearfield all played so it was a stong team!

But the mighty Stop Out didn't disappoint. With a 4-2 loss our boys can hold their heads high.

A clinical finish for Steve Gulley (with his right foot) from the edge of the box meant a 2 -1 half time deficit... And a beautiful Jake Theron chip in the second half meant we finished the match down but definitely not out!

A great night for the club and thanks to the Stop Out ball boys!
